Prior to a service, avoid pain killers (except Tylenol), fish oil, and vitamin E, which tend to thin the blood. Thinner blood will make the area prone to bruising and bleeding. Avoid strenuous exercise on the day of treatment. No massage or lying down after treatment for at least 4 hours. During treatment it feels like a pinch and then little stings when being injected. There are various ways to make these injections less painful, which can be decided during your consultation. These injections take anywhere from 15 -60 minutes depending on areas treated and complexity of the treatment. Afterwords, your provider will ask you to sit and wait for 15 minutes where you can apply ice (with dermal fillers) to reduce pain and swelling. You can go about your daily activities as planned afterward but shouldn’t make any big plans (like wedding or important event) for at least two weeks (in case of swelling or bruising). No exercise for 24 hours after the procedure. Avoid activities that increase blood flow to the face such as massage, facials or saunas.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal filler treatments have become one of the most performed cosmetic procedures in North America, second only to anti-wrinkle treatments. Dermal fillers can be used to restore lost volume of the face and treat facial wrinkles and folds. They are also used for more sophisticated applications such as facial sculpting, balancing and contouring lips, jawline, chin and more.
